Santa’s Elves

Did you know?
A long long time ago
There was born
In the North Pole snow
A baby elve

Her red-cheeked face
All aglow

Little did she know?

Her tiny Momma
Had perished
In the Arctic cold

Santa Claus smiled at his newborn daughter

Despite losing his was-to-be elven wife

He could not bring himself to imagine the business strife

Her tiny baby’s eyes
And his entwined

Taking his mind
But for a moment
Off of the momentous woe

From the depths of his consumer-driven jolly heart

His tears signaled a fresh start

Burst forth a tenderly sympathetic
Yet lovingly empathetic
