Like a fisherman

Looking for a boisterous bite

A polar bear

Searching for

Some scarcer-by-the-day Arctic ice

A wild horse

Parading for

A mesmerizing mare

A laughing hyena

Fleeing from

A roaring lion’s lair

A chimpanzee

Jonesing for

A ripe banana

An eagle perched high

To look at

The scenic panorama

These natural things

Are like my psyche

As I ponder the totality of the terrain

Filtering through my preternatural brain

Once again

On my Spring evening hike
