Happy Halloween

It was a dreary and gloomy October night

As I traversed the streets

There were scenes filled with fright

I saw Frankenstein

With the WolfMan

Walking under a tree

Atop perched an owl

It was very eerie

My legs felt weary

As WolfMan started to howl

Then a Gorilla

Not Magilla

Was holding hands with Godzilla

What was unfurling?

Winds were swirling!

Had I awoken in a Creature Feature Thriller?

Then a tap

Upon my back

It was a Vampire!

Asking for treats?

I yelled out, “No”!

Now please go!

“You’d have my blood for your sweets”

Out of the hullabaloo

Came a “Boo”!

Then big and obscene

A muscled fiend

His skin perpetually green

Careened on to the street!!

I wished to sulk

When the Incredible Hulk shouted

“Happy Halloween”!

 

A Shepherd’s Tale

It must be the Sheep

Who is the creep?

Not the enterprising Wolf

Who upon entering the manger

Must go about the business

Of heightening the bloody danger

To ensure that his stomach is filled deep

Sated with the blood

And life

Of those who cannot fight

Due to the lack of might

Or insight

To do what is right

Amongst the Sheep

The farmhouse creaks

Echoing the sound internal of the shattered bleats

Whilst the whole wide world

Sleeps

My Golden Calf

Tax-free
Political favors craft

It carries me First-Class
On the waves of our economy

Only suckers
Cannot wiggle their way
Out of the Draft

After another
Material Blessing Day

Providence provides me
With the Last Laugh

As the underlings
Bicker and fight

Over fixing

The economic drive shaft

And to be awarded a raft
Of survival

Any job

Preclude your First Amendment rights?

The supposition that veterans do not support protesting for human rights is a non-patriotic slight

By those who have never had the enemy in their M-16 sights

It does not make you a Soldier/Patriot because you have as a Citizen deemed it proper to salute the flag

Enlist if you wish and risk coming back from never-ending American wars in a bodybag

If Citizens cannot protest as they see fit protected by the First Amendment

Then it is you who are acting as a Nazi and have condemned them

Who hath let Der Fuhrer’s cat out of the bag!

You are paying Trillions of dollars for Military conflicts around the World

While showing your Constitution to be as worthless as a rag
