Towards the breadbasket of civilization

They hold up a mirror

To our own looming confrontation

Upon the beautiful shores of Greece

Comes a class warfare

That has divided the cultural peace

Forced down his throat

The Noble Greek will not swallow

The European Austerity Plan

He’s expected to follow

Damning their working class culture

And not approved by Apollo!

Quite fitting this eternal struggle

Has returned to this original arena

When the working class people

And entrepreneurial poor

Are exploited

They always find it

Anathema

Pray

May their Truth be guided

By the Sword of Hercules

And the Wisdom of Athena

PRAYER

I prayed for food

And I prayed for rent

I prayed for these things

To be heaven sent

I prayed in the morning

And I prayed at night

To help out my brother

And the mentally ill in their plight

I prayed at my job site

I prayed at the dinner table

I prayed that men should not kill

Like Cain and Abel

I prayed against war

And slavery on every shore

I prayed for the victims of criminals

The lepers

The poor

I prayed

And prayed

Until this very same day

When I received a knock on the door

From a post-pandemic NYC landlord

Capitalist to working class/renting poor

“You have not my inflated flat money!

“Then you must go away!”

My baby’s gone

Her life is no more

And all is lost

All I adore

Her little body

And effervescent soul

Has gone away

Somewhere

To grow old

Oh! How I long

For your sweet smile

Your boisterous laugh

Was worth the while

The memories of

Those happy days

The love cascades

Down my cheeks

Like fallen rain

Days full of play

MOTHER EARTH’S PRAYER

The mountains so majestic
Looming in the sky
Cannot speak out loud

The lions roar
To let you know
That their growing pride is proud

The Dolphins jump and play
That’s their way
If you are in a boat you can see

The insects pollinate
At their own rate
Busily buzzing like a bee

The ocean waves splashing hard
Upon the vast beach shore

The volcanos spit out lava
Oozing it from their fiery core

The Elephants noisily trumpet
To make us all aware

The eagle soars
On outstretched wings
Way high up in the air

The peacock shows you his colorful display
By his feathers bright

The owl hoots and hollers
Under a crisp full moonlight

The trees gently sway
Showing you the way
To a better day

The rooster too
With a cock-a-doodle doo
Alarming as he struts and sashays

All of these things
That Mother Nature brings
Just means she’s trying to say

“With so much wonder to fill your day”

“Why throw it all away?”

“There must be a better way”

“To spend your stay”

“We have gone too far astray”

“Stop the Pollution!”

“We need a Solution!”

“On this all day”

“I pray”

LAUGHTER THE BEST MEDICINE

To fathom the disagreeable

I’ve discerned

Is to not let your hostilities

Blow up much too rash

For life has it’s many

Incongruities

That hide in plain sight

Like a cat poised to strike

In the high grass

When tempests are testing your

Infallibility

To go on

Without unleashing

A personal blast

Use your wit

I submit

It’s in your ability

To have your esteem

Still pristine

Without all the sass

Everyone of us has our own

Perfect halo

That is soiled

By acts

We cannot take away

We move on with a smile

And go the extra mile

And with that

I’d like to wish

MOSQUITO

Smaller than the nail on my finger

She observes from way up high

When she sees her opportunity

She never fails to suck you dry

She lives to dine amongst the poor

Whilst also partaking of the rich

She’s no discriminator

This expeditious witch

Will leave you with an itch

The most deadliest of species

She arrives when things get hot

The only way to stop her

Is with a sudden and forceful

SWAT!

TIME

If yesterday is gone

And tomorrow yet awaits

Then is today just an illusion

A cosmic holograph protrusion

In time and space

My mind creates

If all my memories are recalled

From past and different times

Is it me that I am thinking of

Or of someone who occupied my mind

If in the future I have plans to fix

These obstacles that are in my midst

How can I in the here and now

When tomorrow does not yet exist

If now is everchanging

Steadily sweeping future into the past

Then is time just but an illusion

And I an actor in it’s cast

TIME

If yesterday is gone

And tomorrow yet awaits

Then is today just an illusion



A cosmic holograph projecting protrusion

A Universe driven dark matter collusion


In time and space

My mind recreates


If all my memories are recalled

From past and different times


Is it me that I am thinking of?


Or of someone who occupied my mind


If in the future I have plans to fix

These obstacles that are in my midst


How can I in the here and now?

When tomorrow does not yet exist


If now is ever-changing
