The Mother and Her Pride

It is a shame that Repugnicant Americans

Have recanted their claims to Life and Liberty

As a child I was taught in public school

Allowing immigrants into our land

Made us grand!

And was the level best virtue of our country

There were no dissertations

On documentation

As to human rights

And being free

All the tired and poor

Were welcomed to our shores!

The Home of the Brave!

And The Land of the Free!

With great pride and bonafides!

We greeted immigrants from countries around the world!

From sea to shining sea!

Welcoming them warmly

With open arms!

And the torch-light of hope

Held firmly high

The Mother and her pride

Welcoming day and night

Via her hospitality and grace

The Statue of Liberty
