The Over-Police and Vigilante Justice Grief

Photo by Vijay Bhaskar on Pexels.com

Please Officer!
Tell me your not the Over-Police!

I am hungry for some bread!
Generally I live my life in peace!

Unemployment has me tethered
I am trying to put my mind at ease

Have I run a red light!
Is my old jalopy ripe for the cease

Please Officer!
Tell me your not the Over-Police!

I have been gallivanting
With my friends on Park Avenue’s Manhattan streets

Supporting Black Lives Matter!
Enduring the Corona-Virus Beast!

Shalt I salute the American Flag
Or recite the Pledge of Allegiance?

Will then your aggressive posture humbly acquiesce

Please Officer!
Tell me your not the Over-Police!

For simple petty crimes

In High Society

Why have you laid me down violently

To rest in peace?
