Laissez-Faire Purple Rain

One can never learn about Finance
And the Economy
By imbibing solely
From Leviticus and Deuteronomy
Anyone loosely versed in the
Republican Jesus Free Market
Knows it is being set up for a
Casino Run Bull Market
Except if you ain’t got
No Skin in the Game
You will not participate
In the Riches
Material Blessings
Nor Fame
So if you went along
For the Dreamy Business Waters
Of the Campaign Trump Song (And Dance)
It reminds me of an Old Prince Song
Purple Rain
Credible
Edible
Tangible
Except it ain’t
Until the next financial crash
Ala Laissez-faire
Strikes the middle class and poor again

Fear Ideas

Photo by Rene Asmussen on Pexels.com

The notion is that Socialist (Public school, police, fireman, Post office, bridges)

Liberal (Diverse socially, politically, and culturally)

Conservative (Save government money via checks and balances on fraud, corruption, and bad policies)

Marxist (Checks on Income Inequality, Class Inequalities in Society)

Radical (Free Speech Protests, Creative Thinkers, New solutions or Ideas)

Cynical?

Are more than simple ideas?

The United States will become the new Venezuela jeers?

Do you want all of your information

From the Business sphere?

This is as to be a frog

Stuck in a well

The only world

Is Up!

Encased in that life-giving

Prison hell

The warmth of the sun

Slowly baking you

As it at first light

Dampens your fears

Never leaving time for tears

This fear of original policies

Economic

Social

Political

Taking flight!

As new ideas

The Man with Red Horns

Photo by Jeremy Bishop on Pexels.com

Oh! Have I planted firm beliefs and plotted piety

These long arduous Summer morns

Harvested frosty Winter

Erected a crown of prickly thorns

Twas the fated

Conquest to be

With the Man with Red Horns

Suffer the beast!

From dank brusk

Until breaking dawn

Of my crushing defeat

The Old Text

Fairly forewarns

Spring is the beginning

Pride goeth before the Fall

Pity the Kings!

No more suffer the pawns!

GroupThink

GroupThink is Orwell’s original word

A definition of the adverse effects

Of complete loyalty

To the herd

Innovation

Creative thinkers

And new and vibrant solutions

Are stifled

When society is such arrayed

GroupThink only allows fealty

To the ennobled leaders

Of the day

Loyalty

Submission

And anti-protest

Are most popular attributes

Amongst the knaves

When compared

You will find the thought process

Shares a commonality

With the owners of the slaves

And the anti-democratic

Boot-licking

Simpleton

Insurrectionists

Attacks against the Capitol Police brave

Democracy is only truly formed

When everyone has their say

Honest debate

Reasoning

And open discussion

Should propel motion

To the better way

Yet it is emotion

What one “believes”

What the “team” propaganda conceives

That has the greater devotion

And stands tallest

Above the American dream fray

Worker Bee

Don’t bee too hard on yourself

Taste the honey

Life is too short

To spend in the weeds

Smell the flowers

Bee empowered

Enjoy the beautiful scenery

Which will put your mind at ease

And make just enough

Honey

To live comfortably

Exercise

Integrity

Creativity

Solidarity

Inhale the flowery breeze!

Buzz onward cheerfully

On the finite flight of your mortality

Happy Halloween

It was a dreary and gloomy October night

As I traversed the streets

There were scenes filled with fright

I saw Frankenstein

With the WolfMan

Walking under a tree

Atop perched an owl

It was very eerie

My legs felt weary

As WolfMan started to howl

Then a Gorilla

Not Magilla

Was holding hands with Godzilla

What was unfurling?

Winds were swirling!

Had I awoken in a Creature Feature Thriller?

Then a tap

Upon my back

It was a Vampire!

Asking for treats?

I yelled out, “No”!

Now please go!

“You’d have my blood for your sweets”

Out of the hullabaloo

Came a “Boo”!

Then big and obscene

A muscled fiend

His skin perpetually green

Careened on to the street!!

I wished to sulk

When the Incredible Hulk shouted

“Happy Halloween”!

A Shepherd’s Tale

It must be the Sheep

Who is the creep?

Not the enterprising Wolf

Who upon entering the manger

Must go about the business

Of heightening the bloody danger

To ensure that his stomach is filled deep

Sated with the blood

And life

Of those who cannot fight

Due to the lack of might

Or insight

To do what is right

Amongst the Sheep

Whilst the whole wide world

Sleeps

Noah’s Raft

Only the Little People
Pay taxes

You know the Riff-Raff

Got a problem with that
Then I’ll lay off some more staff

Trickle-Down is what I named my yacht
My Golden Calf

Tax-free
Political favors craft

It carries me First-Class
On the waves of our economy

Only suckers
Cannot wiggle their way
Out of the Draft

After another
Material Blessing Day

Providence provides me
With the Last Laugh

As the underlings
Bicker and fight

Over fixing

The economic drive shaft

And to be awarded a raft
Of survival
